If you have seen behaviour from a face-to-face fundraiser that you feel doesn’t reflect our code of conduct, please let us know.
First, let us clear up some misconceptions!
Is the fundraiser legitimate?
You'll know if someone is fundraising for one of our accredited members because they will:
- Have a lanyard and photo ID card with their name on it and the Charity logo
- They will be wearing Charity branded clothing
- They will be able to provide you with information about the Charity and a confirmation email once you sign up to give regular donations.
If you’re unsure if a fundraiser is genuine, please call the charity directly to verify this.
Is my information secure?
Yes, fundraisers use tablets to collect people’s details electronically, which ensures the security of all personal and financial information. This means any information you give to them will be stored safely and compliantly. The same as if you were donating through the charity website.
Are fundraisers paid for the work they do?
Yes, face-to-face fundraisers are paid professionals and not volunteers. They are employed to fundraise on behalf of our charity members. No commission is deducted from your donations and all donations are paid directly to the charity.
Fundraisers do not collect cash.
The safety of our fundraisers is very important to us.
Is this form of fundraising regulated?
Yes, PFRA works with charities and agency providers to ensure quality, integrity and transparency in face-to-face fundraising by creating an atmosphere of public confidence and regulatory solutions.
If, after reading the prior misconceptions you’d still like to provide feedback, you can do so via the following form, or by calling us directly on:022 061 3643
